John Knox once prayed, “Give me Scotland, or I die.” It was not a request for political power; it was a desperate plea for the soul of a people.

The Black Puritan Society is born from a similar desperation.

I write this as a black man in America who sees a crisis of depth. There is a profound need for my kinsmen to take theology seriously, to move beyond cultural affinity and emotionalism into the deep, terrifying, and beautiful knowledge of God.

But while the burden is specific, the table is open.

The term “Black Puritan” describes my vantage point, not a restriction on the audience. If you are not black, do not turn away. The truths we explore here—the sovereignty of God, the gravity of sin, and the sufficiency of Grace—are not racial, they are eternal.

Whether you are in a city storefront church or a rural cathedral, if you want practical theology that works in every home, town, county, and nation, this publication is for you.

What to Expect: You will no longer find “Buddy” here.

As Franklin Davis, I am offering:

  1. The Essay: Practical theological and cultural critique.

  2. The Poem: The interior life of faith, woven throughout.

We are here to clear the fog. We are here to know Him.

Welcome to the Society.
